What is OPARS

OPARS is a best in class project and organisational information management system engine which can be fully configured to reflect specific requirements, peculiarities and parameters. It can fit to respond to real needs of your organisation at all levels and for all phases.

The engine can be applied across an entire enterprise and across all project participants from owners to EPC Contractors, and from Engineers to major service and material suppliers. The system functions as a standalone Project/Process Management solution, allowing our clients to organize and manage all of their project information and in addition to Project Control functions offers a complete asset, correspondence and document management solution. It is mainly designed to ensure:

  • Effective communication;
  • Effective information/knowledge management;
  • Instant and automated status tracking and reporting;
  • Early identification of any issues like slippage;
  • Expedition of project delivery dates.

Benefits of the OPARS system

The system delivers multiple benefits,
helping project driven companies reduce risk,
improve performance and achieve reliable outcomes.

  • “Verifying Project and Plant Integrity” Through controlled review cycles and auditable handover, OPARS reduces risk, gives stakeholders full visibility, and ensures confidence from design to operations.
  • It provides an automated tool that improves project team members’ performances, ultimately reflected to the outcome and quality of works performed, projects completed.
  • It provides systematic issue tracking and management, allowing companies to automatically capture, route, and escalate issues based on customized business rules. As a result, companies can gain valuable insight into the source of problems, and ensure that no project or process 'goes off the rails'.
  • Depending on their levels of access and authorization, team members from all layers of the organisation can view, change and collaborate on design documents, pictures, budgets, and that, from practically anywhere in the world.
  • All activities associated with a project can be tracked, including when a document is received, viewed, and changed by team members. Management has hands-on control on processes.
  • Data transmission is encrypted to ensure protected access over public networks. In addition, a project manager can easily tailor access permissions to the role of each user.
  • The system is helping with your organization’s cost and time reduction effort, both as a result of improved technical performance and the opportunity to collaborate across geographical locations and between divisions within an enterprise in a time and cost efficient manner.
  • The system can be configured to produce reports required for the follow-up of the project and to display aggregated project data without having to manually aggregate data from each project participant in your organization. In addition, the system can be designed to secure generation and distribution of regular automatic reporting to selected recipients.
  • As long as the external participant has a user name and password, you can grant them secure access to your project data and your organization can easily share information with your external parties.

Modular structure

OPARS is designed to allow integrated usage as well as standalone working
capability to better fit organisations' and projects' custom requirements.

  • Documents
  • Asset Data
  • Correspondence
  • Change
  • Registers
  • Basic Correspondence Management Correspondence management covering mainly status tracking with all related data and enables a centralised environment with user friendly listings, filters and access. Includes status based simple worklist generation and simple action assignment.
  • Basic Document Management Document management covering mainly revision and status tracking with all related data and enables a controlled document environment with user friendly listings, filters and access. Includes status based simple worklist generation and simple action assignment.
  • Commented/Actionable Document Management In addition to basic document functionality; has commenting and phase based finalisation cycles for documents and revisions.
  • Integrated Correspondence Management In addition to basic correspondence functionality; has ability to link any implemented document group to correspondences. (like transmittal generation for incoming/outgoing documents and comment sheets)
  • Asset Data Management Customised asset data registry and management which enables centralised environment with user friendly listings and data management based on asset types. Can include also stakeholder based data completeness tracking and reporting.
  • Risk Management module Hierarchical and multi user risk register, mitigation tracking and reporting management software. Can be used/installed as stand alone as well as an integrated module to the overall system.
  • Management Registers module Register and status tracking for management requirements like decision register, lessons learned register, personnel authorisation register for reimbursable structures, etc. Can be used/installed as stand alone as well as an integrated module to the overall system.
  • Independent Action/Task Management module Apart from simple action assignment options within correspondence and document modules, a fully independent organisational action/task management software. Can be used/installed as stand alone as well as an integrated module to the overall system.
  • Linkable Modules These modules enable tracking of registers and packages which are linked to the correspondences and documents. Some commonly implemented examples are listed:
    • Engineering hold register
    • Tender/Bid/Package management
    • DVR/EDC/DCN (technical changes) management
    • Change authorisation - change management
    • RFI - TQ management
  • Additional access management module This module enables group policy like approach for user groups and generally enables easier management of access customisation for external user groups like client, contractor, vendor, etc.
  • Custom reporting module Sample implementation examples are MDDR or LOD integration, Primavera activity id integration, engineering or deliverable progress curves, department/personnel based todo list mailing, etc.
